A major port on the Baltic Sea, Helsinki is the capital of Finland, the most stable country in the world according to the Failed States Index. Throughout its relatively short history the country has been caught between two conflicting sides: Sweden and Russia, the First and Second World Wars, and the Cold War.

In 2014, Helsinki found itself at the center of another destructive conflict when Virginia Bruck and the remnants of the Wurzburg and Helsinki covens laid waste the city in a hunt for Patrick Cobbold, co-creator of an advanced artificial intelligence system known as Eve.

Within a year, and with reconstruction still in progress Helsinki found itself hosting two rival concerts when Toten Herzen and There Will Be Blood appeared at the Olympic Stadium and the smaller Nosturi on the same night. The Helsinki Event of 2014 was followed by the Second Helsinki Event: a dramatic evening of violence which led to Toten Herzen’s Malandanti world tour being temporarily suspended.
